The Belief Retreat 2021 took place in Lisbon and Beliefers had the time of their lives together. Two years after the last Retreat, in Panama, we could finally get back together, give lots of hugs and share ideas. Let's see how the first day went!
After almost two years of a pandemic, we couldn't think of a better way to start the Belief Retreat. Beliefers were invited for a boat trip in the Tagus River. While they were there, they all participated in a very special activity: each one of them received a white rose. With that, they should think about what they are grateful for, what they want to leave behind, and what lessons they are taking from all of this. Then, they tossed the roses into the river.
"We wanted everyone to feel refreshed, and we wanted to provide a new beginning for everybody. After all of this that we lived, it was essential to push the reset button before we started our activities ", says Giovana Duailibe, CEO of Belief Wedding Creators.
Many Beliefers saw this as a very emotional moment. "It was significant for us to reset in the middle of the pandemic. It was so good to begin the Retreat with all that sun, energy, and environment", comments Maria Connie Martins Vieira, from Ambiance Wedding Azores.
Also, the boat ride was a perfect moment to get to know each other. "It was a beautiful way to connect while touring," states Valentina Lombardi, from Italian Wedding Company.
Then, the Beliefers had a fabulous lunch, with some Portuguese delicacies.
Breakfast: Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & SPA
Lunch: Horas Felizes
Decor: O Cacto
Time to change the way we see Lisbon. All the Beliefers took a super fun tram ride through Portugal's capital.
After all of these activities, Beliefers were invited for a cocktail at the rooftop of Hotel Mondial. It was a moment to see Lisbon from above and make a brainstorm about the wedding industry.
One of the main discussions was whether wedding planners are creators or not. Rui Mota Pinto, for example, believes that he is a creator, as he always tries to put a concept into the wedding. On the other hand, Sabrina Gambato, from Ti Amo Ti Sposo, claims that every wedding planner is a creator since we can all create something. "It's the clients' vision through our eyes," she states.
Another point discussed was the emotional connection with couples. "I feel very committed to the couples. And they hire me because they feel that I'm passionate", says Briggite Kater, from Perfect Celebrations. However, Valentina Lombardi believes that it is important not to cross the line when it comes to emotions because some clients may take advantage of that.
